Crossword puzzles online

xwordx is a crossword puzzle game created using React JS for fun and practice.

There are hundreds of boards. Some of the words are obscure. Many of the hints are difficult (not in a good way). It may improve over time. Or maybe it won't. Who knows? It depends how busy I get, and whether my mum keeps playing. Mum loves these types of puzzles.

The boards are algorithmically generated. I don't directly choose the words, and the clues are produced using generative AI. Since they are generated automatically, some of the words or clues may be rude or offensive. It is my intention to avoid this happening, but I'm sorry if some offensive words or clues slip through.

• Press a number key to activate the word for that number.
• If the number corresponds to a vertical and a horizontal word, pressing the number key a second time will jump to the second word.
• You can also click on any square to select it. The word containing the square will become active. Click the square again to activate the other word that the square belongs to.
• Type a letter to put that letter in the selected square.

It works the same way on mobile. Though the mobile experience is a bit more janky and buggy.
